A Great Blue Heron keeps a watchful eye on a Great Egret in the Delta Ponds. The herons are here year round, even nesting in trees near Delta Ponds and also Alton Baker park, while the egrets only stop by during Spring and Summer. So I think the herons believe the ponds are theirs. They make it very clear most of the time as they will chase the egrets off in their favorite spots. It is fun to watch the interaction between them.
