I love the fact that we have a bald eagle's nest on Skinner Butte in the heart of Eugene, and like to visit when I can. Here, along with the parent Bald Eagle, you can see one of two babies, a little fur ball. Even though it hasn't yet developed feathers, its beak seems to be pretty impressive already! I would have loved using a longer lens than the old model Nikkor 80-400 VR I used, but that means a really long one, at least 1000mm! I shot the image in DX mode, so it would be like using a 600mm lens. It is a long way out to that nest! Considering that this is a crop of a DX miage, and it means it is about a quarter or less of the original of a full frame, I consider it to be a pretty good result.
