Biting Off More Than One Can Chew

When I first saw the cormorant, it had this huge fish in its beak. It had a struggle swimming and hanging onto it.
In this shot it is losing its hold on the fish. The poor cormorant finally lost the fish.
I got another shot of the fish laying in the water before it sank. Then the cormorant saw me and flew away.
The photo was shot in Delta Ponds.

I hope nobody bites off more than they can chew in 2013!

Every fisherman will tell you of the one that " got away" I would imagine he is telling the cormorant society about this one, you can supply proof if he needs it... Great shot. V

That's a big catfish! They have skin that's quite tough. I'm betting the cormorant didn't kill it.
