Under Attack!

Good capture! I have been buss-bombed by these feisty birds while riding on my bicycle. I have even taken a few hits on the helmet.

Good one Vern - I saw some red winged blackbirds charging an osprey earlier today. They can be frantically territorial when their young are in danger. The craziest was a group of them attacking a cooper's hawk the other year which was carrying off a juvenile bird. The hawk just flitted through the trees and accellerated away. For the rest of the summer, any person or other bird that came near those trees was divebombed and pecked at.
