Waiting For Bridge Dedication

People are beginning to gather for the dedication of the rebuilt Chambers Covered Railroad Bridge.
It is pretty much completed except for the roof. Notice the simulated railroad ties and rails.
I hope to be adding more images to the Chambers Covered Bridge gallery soon.

This covered bridge was originally owned by the Chambers Lumber Company and was used by their mill for hauling finished lumber.
The mill and railroad are long gone. The bridge is now pedestrian only, and is now part of paths along the river in Cottage Grove.

Fabulous shot, Vern. And I just read the part about the roof not being finished - so ignore my question. :)

Great use of the super-wide angle of view.

That is a really nice photo. The lack of a roof makes for a nicely detailed interior.
Steve Thuman07-Dec-2011 02:49
Perfect time to photograph it when the roof is open and letting all that light in. A lovely structure and wonderful scene with all the people in it.

Very neat - good to see old rail lines, should they not be used for what they are made for, being used for something useful instead of being torn out. Voted.
