An American Coot at Delta Ponds.
Handheld - shutter speed a bit slow.

Regarding the question about the bluish color, the color evidently varies as shown in this link --

We have a ton of these birds in our local ponds. Innthe winter they call the Cootcicles, the Eagles like to pluck them out of the water

Coots are easy to ignore and often plentiful. They are devilishly hard to capture. I like the way you captured his surroundings.
