Cormorant Leaving the Launch Pad

This was literally a shot in the dark, at 6:50 AM, before daylight. Was able to use 1/30th second shutter speed, which helped get the motion in the wings.

I love this shot, Vern! Especially being able to see the series of "hops" on the water that were involved in the take-off.

This is a very good capture of the Cormorant. I usually catch them just as they dive underwater

The slow exposure gives the bird a sense of speed, that D3 is a super camera, I would probably get a black image with my D200.
