I saw a TV show on the larger kind of boat, where they take care of the mouth of the Columbia. Supposedly the most dangerous river opening in the USA. Huge breakers. Hence the special boats. They can roll over and upright themselves. Scary stuff.

Not sure what that large boat is called, but they sure made a bunch of them for the CG.
