Diamond Creek Falls

The hike to Diamond Creek Falls starts at the Salt Creek Falls Observation Area and winds for a mile and a half on a beautiful forest trail. To get to the falls, you must traverse a downhill narrow and slippery path into a small canyon. One can slip off the path easily if not careful. To get to the falls one crosses the creek and rounds a bend in the trail. It isn't till then that one can hear the falls itself. Some have walked as far as the creek and given up because they couldn't hear any noise of the falls. They missed out on a wonderful sight.

Seeing the falls is well worth the effort to get there. It isn't a difficult hike. The falls themselves are 90 feet high. Along the trail all the way in the forest floor is covered with rhododendrons. So it would be a beautiful hike in the spring when the rhodies are in bloom.
