On July 21st, my grandson and I traveled the Going-To-The-Sun Road from McDonald Lake to Logan Pass, elevation 6340 feet above sea level. In an area where there used to be glaciers and plenty of snow, there is now little, even at that elevation. The visitor center at the top of the pass was overfilled with cars, etc. There was nothing I could do be just drive through and head for the trip back down. That was very disappointing. I learned, however, after the fact that the shuttle buses to the top are free. That might be the way to go.
