#9 Kasey Kahne beats Ryan Newman by .008 of a second to capture the pole at for the MBNA 500 in Atlanta.
Kahne averaged 192.553mph around the 1.5 mile track on a cool Friday night, and went on to win
the MBNA 500 race on the following Monday after a rain delay on Sunday. Mark Martin finished 2nd,
and this win put Kayne 2nd in the point standings behind Jimmy Johnson.
