For my second week of retirement I took a road trip from Austin to Taos, New Mexico via north Texas. Stops in Lubbock, Amarillo and San Angelo made the trip very interesting. Everything went well even though my navigation system (with preferences set to 'take shortest route' instead of 'take quickest route') took me on ten miles of unpaved roads (rt. 120) near Eagle Nest, New Mexico. The road at times was no wider than my truck and with large rocks and washed out ditches slowing my progress it was a little stressful but all worked out fine!
