My first airshow of the year, May 3rd 2009, I was experimenting with slower shutter speeds (around 250th - I tried the Catalina at 100th, my delete key was worked overtime, but one or two sort of worked) to get some prop blur, these have been heavily edited as I was not as steady as I thought but it is great practice at slow shutter speeds, I used the 200-400 VR lens with VR on, ha de ha, ok, operator error*. All hand held. I have deleted a heck of a lot! It was not easy. I am not terribly impressed with some of these, but that is largely due to the sky! My Excuse * see below.

I used the D700, I think the D300, like last time, would have in retrospect been better, some of these are heavily cropped. Mind you at the end a few got quite close... So nice to have the choice LOL ;-)

Images 205-207 were DX crop in D700.

The weather was not nice, windy and that horrid background cloud. But improved a bit as the afternoon went on. Another thing I have noticed is that the keeper rate has improved as the afternoon went on, very suddenly, I wonder if that is when I noticed that the VR had been switched to *Active sometime, by mistake, and I spotted it and switched it back to *Normal! Just another thing to keep an eye on...
