International Centre for Birds of Prey Newent UK - Take 3

Images from my latest trip to the wonderful bird sanctuary, ICBP.
This time I wanted to add the human element as well as the birds.

I would like to thank Chris Townsend http://www.christownsendoutdoors.co.uk/ for his help and support - thanks Chris.

I have been using Capture One 4 Pro (standard C1 previously) for the conversions and Lightroom for the JPEGerisations and resizing and renumbering, and goodness does that save time! I know that LR does the conversions, I just like C1. I can synchronize the folder after C1 has done its work. The only down side it appears is that the titles and keywords that I add to the imported into LR files are lost by C1 after conversion to tiff and re synchronized into LR!
I use Genuine Fractals for resizing. I just bought the new V6 and that has batch processing - oh happy days!

Previously I had used C1 then Elements 6 to remove the jessies, re-size, sharpen and save each individually. But this new way is much quicker. Also I decided not to remove the jessies this time; 1, laziness; and 2, they are captive birds after all!

It seems that LR has removed all the EXIF data, and I didn't tick the box either.

This time I used my 200-400 on my D300, rather than my 500VR on D700. It was lighter, but the hand-holding whilst waiting for the little blighters to take off was still an effort. I know, more exercises LOL ;-)

Maybe a monopod would be helpful in this instance, but the lens collar on the 2-4 is (IMHO) too protuberant for hand-holding. I am not a big fan of twisting the blasted thing out the way! It's either on or off! The 500VR is much better to hold with it on!

I will name them soon.
