Pity Me

Tonle Sap, Cambodia

Among all the portraiture shots I have taken, I think I like this expression best. It's always nice to see a happy face, at the same time we can't deny the fact that many are also suffering from poverty. This shot gives a perfect expression of someone who is in pain and what makes it special it's not acting but real.

I Love photography yes ! I love landscapes, portraiture and all kind of photos .. But what I Love over any kind of photography, is that kind of photos.. natural, the reality, in blanc and white to let all the place to the expression itself ... This photo is a prefect example of what I love over all in photography .... I do not like to see someone poor, someone suffering... but taking portraits and photos like this one is the reason why the photography exists ...I think .... Transmit to someone else the feeling of what you can see somewhere on the Earth ... COngratulations Tricia .. a wonderful capture ... ( sorry for my bad english, I hope everybody will understand what I mean here .. )

You are indeed great at making pictures of happy children and people.
But you never forget to mention the people that have less or even (allmost) nothing.
This is a great and HARD example. Tank you for remembering us !!
The way you show it in B/W is the best way !!

The only thing i can do is vote so more people will see it !! (big Vote)

An excellent B&W, with a good isolation work. Yes, this is full of real life.
Guest 11-Sep-2007 02:27
This is exceptional Tricia. her expression really does say it all doesn't it? and the way the harsh light is captured in B&W gives the image very strong tones that makes it special.
