Honorary Life Member, b. 16 February 1920, d. 27 March 2009 at age 89. Harold was an honors graduate of Newark High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was elected a member of The Society of Sigma Xi research group. He was a Veteran of the Merchant Marines in WWII. He had a long career with the railroads: New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail. His life long hobby was model railroading. Harold was a Past President; Charter and Honorary member of the Finger Lakes Live Steamers.
It was an Honor to have had the pleasure to have known Harold. Harold was a National Treasure , a Man with an almost photographic memory for the life and times of Railroading and the New York Central in particular thru the end of its Golden era and a founding Member of the FLLS , Harold was generous with his time and talent he refused no one. Harold will also be remembered for funding the saving and preserving of the last New York Central Hudson tender in existence at the Steamtown National Historic Site. Harold , may God rest you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you. You will be missed!
