This joint undertaking by the Beaver Dam Community Center and New Morgan Hill Baptist Church, in collaboration with the Buncombe County Sheriff Department, is the undertaking of a multi-phase project to refurbish and up-grade the Community Center, Playground, and recreational facility. Today’s goal, Phase One, was to construct two gym/swing sets and layout the mulched, play area boundary, and paint existing swings, see-saw's and other playground equipment. A delicious and substantial lunch, prepared by the ladies, consisted of hamburgers, hot-dogs with all the fixin's, chips, drinks and deserts. Make no mistake about this...some, if not most of these ladies are as adept with a hammer and a saw and paint brush, as they are with a mixing bowl, spatula and a hamburger flipper!
