Struck Thru

Las Vegas, Nevada

A "Struck Through" coin results when foreign matter (usually a fragment or an improperly-ejected coin) falls back into the coin chamber on top of a new planchet. The subsequent die strike leaves its impression in the second coin.

In this example, something lay on top of this planchet in the area of the eagle's right leg.

Great example of a struck through. How much do the flawed coins increase in value because of the flaws?
