On November 15, 2005, the Stratosphere lost power. Nevada Power said that power and phone lines entangled in high winds. Whatever the cause, six Japanese tourists spent the early evening on this ride, fully-extended over the Strip. There they sat for ninety minutes, chilled, frightened and unable to move.
