This shop had nineteen gang saws used to carve huge blocks into size for buildings. Finish and carving work were done where the embedded iron cleats stand. The firewall at extreme left was one of three marble firewalls built after small fires threatened to engulf the entire factury.

Crossbeam supports for wall, saws and ceiling can be seen in the marble columns that mark the north wall of the mill.
