St. Benedict's Windows

La Veta, Colorado

Jill took advantage of the building's orientation, in which the windows faced roughly east and west.
She interspersed colored with highly refractive pieces to scatter light throughout the interior of the church.
The "Compassion" window, with its vibrant reds, pinks and blues, resonates with sunset colors.
On the other side, "Peace" picks up the jewel and gold-encrusted morning glow.

She mixed many richly-colored glasses with highly textured glasses, also incorporating jewelled patterns and many bevelled pieces.

The windows shown here are in order from the door to the altar and back, from left to right: "Unity", "Resurrection", and "Peace" on the east wall, and "Communion", "Compassion" and "Creation", on the west wall.
