Hiking time: 71 minutes and 7.89 seconds. Mather Road Trailhead to left on Park Loop Trail to right on West Ridge Trail to Wild Iris fields. Tried to use my Metz Macro Flash but it only cycled a couple times and then acted as if the batteries were dead. So I switched to Auto-ISO and used natural light. Continued on to right on Summit Trail to right on Park Loop Trail to left on Mather Road Trail to car. When I got home, I found nothing wrong with the Lithium batteries in the Metz Flash: the flash cycled properly. Go figure.

Took 56 pictures of which 24 made the cut. If the Metz had been working, I'll bet I would have had a lower number of cuts. I rejected all my unhappy lilacs. Only smiling and happy lilacs made the cut.
