Started out on the Maui Haleakala crater hike but it was raining and foggy, and so we stopped after descending about 1,000 feet and only taking about a dozen keeper photos. Got some exercise anyhow. We waited until March 8 to actually do this whole hike.

After that we did a variety of things, including admiring some Technicolor eucalyptus trees and traveling through the waterfalls area, which included a couple of awesome canyons visible from the highway, which to the naked eye are far more impressive than meets that eye, given our intellectual knowledge of how huge the Grand or Snake River Canyons are on the mainland U.S.A. The canyons photographed in this Maui gallery are much smaller than the Grand and Snake River Canyons, but when you're standing at the bottom of them looking up into them, they blow your mind.

It was a dark day, all day. This gave most of my exposures an ugly blue cast that I couldn't resist removing with Lightroom. So these images don't look as dark as the camera thought it was, and look more like what the eye would see on a brighter day.
Took 244 photos of which 101 made the cut.
