This was a long, winding, twisty car trip that took all day, completely around the coast of West Maui. A majority of photos were taken through the car window and were rejected for various reasons: because the subject was random and uninteresting, hopelessly chaotic or blurred, or hopelessly or completely overexposed. Even so, a surprising number of shots taken through the window of the moving car made the cut.

One short trail that we went on is called the Ohai Trail and Overlook. Another series of photos is an exploration of an phenomenon that would be unbelievable if you only heard about it and couldn't see it for yourself, either in photographs or in person: a single Banyon Tree spread over an acre that has sprouted trunk after trunk from a single central monster trunk that gives the impression of a whole grove of separate trees until you realized that they are all connected together from this central giant. I also present lots of beach and wave shots, and people recklessly sunning themselves on the beach, oblivious of the melanoma cancer risk.
