Mt. Talbert Test of the Spider Black Widow Holster Kit with Trekking Poles 2014 05 (May) 10

Mt. Talbert is a forest-covered lava butte two miles from where we live. Hiking time today, a quickie: only107 minutes and 17.58 seconds, or an hour and 47 minutes. Only did this to test a new way of mounting my camera body on my biological body without using neck or shoulder straps.

Started at Sunnyside Road Trailhead to left on Park Loop Trail to right on West Ridge Trail whole length to right on Park Loop Trail to left on Sunnyside Road Trail to car.

The Spider Black Widow Holster Kit worked great with my inexpensive, brawny, rawhide, Fred Meyer belt with metal buckle while unobstructed working the trekking poles. Took 70 photos and 31 made the cut. That's a lot of photos in less than two hours, which shows how easy it was to draw the camera from the holster and shoot my targets, hand-held. Didn't have to put my machine gun on a tripod, as they did in The Wild Bunch (my favorite western and the greatest (anti-)western ever made).

The forest is finally green with broad leaves now, although they aren't fully mature yet and so are still quite bright.
