The occasion is the celebration of the successful addition of USB 3.0 connectivity that I added to my 6 year old desktop computer this March 7. This was a major accomplishment by someone all thumbs when it comes to mechanical assemblies. It required opening my 6 year old large desktop computer that I had never opened before. I was terrified of the prospect, and I held a correspondence for two days with the original builders of the system who live in Seattle, Washington. They still had detailed records of the system they put together for me and filled me with so much confidence that I could actually do this on my own without risking a heart attack that I proceeded to -- think about it anyhow. After two days of agonizing over the prospect, I finally cracked open the case and started puzzling things out. It took me a day to figure out the power supply cabling I'd have to do and install the USB 3.0 card. Then came getting the USB 3.0 external port working with all my devices, including finding a SD card reader that would work with the Xcellon XCUSB10PCH 10-Port Powered USB 3.0 Aluminum Hub with 3 Dedicated USB Charging Ports that I purchased on March 4. Details of getting a proper SD reader working when I come to the picture of all this.
