This is the spot just before the original routing of the Oneonta Trail got wiped out by a landslide this winter, and the Oneonta Trail to Triple Falls was closed because of it. The trail was rerouted and rebuilt above the old trail, which is closed off by the logs deliberately dragged across the old trail which soon disappears in a landslide. This reroute was just opened a couple weeks ago, an event for which I've been (im)patiently waiting. However, when I saw the reroute, I immediately thought, "You've got to be kidding!" It looked (and was) outrageously steep and rocky! Looks pretty make-shift to me!
