First totally open view at an elevation of about 2,000 feet. Took a little break here and sat on that bench for about five minutes. This is where I encountered my first fellow hikers of the day. The peak in the upper left hand quadrant is Mount Defiance. Notice the snow around the summit. That's recent (spring) snowfall.
