The forest on Mt. Talbert is so thick that you can rarely see civilization through the trees, even though the mountain is surrounded by the residential Happy Valley which is embedded in East Portland, Oregon and is right next to busy U.S. Interstate 205. So this view through the trees of residences on a neighboring mountain side is a rare sight from a trail on Mt. Talbert.
