THIS is Pup Creek! But there was no sign and I couldn't believe it that such a large creek could not be Pup Creek! (It's been years since I was last here.) So I waded across this sucker, getting a hot foot (water overflowing into my boot), and walked on for another 1/2 to 3/4 mile through boring clear cut full of electrical towers from the power station down stream on the Clackamas. Finally I ran into a couple and asked them how much further to Pup Creek and they didn't know what I was talking about. So, despondent, I stopped, had a quick snack, turned around, and was committed to returning to the trail-head without seeing the beautiful Pup Creek Falls. But lo and behold, the trail to the falls is actually on the near side to this creek, which IS Pup Creek, and I caught it on the way back and headed up the trail for the view.
