At this point I've hiked to the end of the Franklin Ridge Trail and Trail 446 and I'm back on the Larch Mt. Trail on the way down to the parking lot, but still miles from that. This is along the longest section through a scree slope I've ever encountered and it hasn't been raining for a half hour or so and the sky actually starts showing blue, so I take out the camera to take some pictures of the uncompromisingly rocky trail and scree slope. I'm able to take photographs for another half hour before the sky turns black and opens up into a downpour.
