I believe this is a shot of the Starvation Ridge Trail on the Oregon side of the Columbia Gorge. It intersects with the Mt. Defiance Trail above 4,000 feet and it is even steeper than the Mt. Defiance Trail. I climbed Mt. Defiance up the Starvation Ridge Trail many times in my day. It was one of my favorite climbs.
