After the previous image, I returned to the main trail and started heading uphill towards the connection with the hazardous connection to the viewpoint side-trail, but I ran into another side-trail to the right, which I was curious about and took. I found that it was a well-graded, easy traverse through a few campsites to the top of the ridge above the viewpoint trail, with views the same as the viewpoint trail as well as views down to the viewpoint trail, as shown in this image of two people I met going back to the main trail. This couple took it a lot easier than I did on the viewpoint trail, sitting down for the view. I just wanted to snap my pictures and get the hell out of that hairy spot. I could study the views later in perfect peace of mind in front of my computer monitor.
