So I walked and walked and climbed and climbed, to much higher than what the trail guide described and I thought the guidebook was wrong. I was well above 2,000 feet and the PCT was on a steady incline and very narrow. I knew I wasn't anywhere near where I was supposed to be but didn't understand why and just wanted to stop and take a lunch break and turn around and go back, but the trail was so narrow, I had to walk on and on until I was at an elevation of 2,075 feet before I found this marginally wide spot next to a tree where I could take my break and finally turn around.
