Kashong Point is on Seneca Lake, south of Geneva, NY. Most of these images were taken with a Yashica rangefinder or a Minolta SRT-101. The photos speak for themselves.

Hi Fred; you have some spectacular photos posted here of Upstate NY - makes me homesick! (I grew up in Hilton, NY, now live and work in the Wash. DC area) . . . a small world note to pass along on your "Growing up at Kashong" page that I happened to recognize a friend of mine from the Coast Guard, Richard MacIntyre, aka "Mac", who now lives up in Sitka, Alaska. I remember that he grew up in Geneva and that he knew mutual friends of my wife who went to SUNY Geneseo . . . I guess you all were friends too! . . small world indeed.

My family used to spend our summers on Kashong Rd where my grandparents had a small house. Your photos look like ours

Hi Fred, finally looked at your pics, after 3 years of getting the FLT. You took me back to white boy Afro's, English Triumps, goofy gun totin' & posin' twenty year olds camping and shooting up stupid targets. Impressive enviromental studies nonetheless. Guess you could call me a fellow photographer - having held a camera of one sort or another since age eight. So that makes for a half century of image gathering from "boids" &"dawgs" & "peoples" & "vaters" & all sorts of other interesting (to me)imagry! Paul Simon wrote and sang in 50 ways - "I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free." - Glad he wasn't talking about photography because like you, I'm driven to share my photographic safari passions also. Weekly, your written words of encouragement and technique remind me that there are caring people who watch and study our world, take it in and share. Thank you, indeed, thank you.
