Wild 'orchid' 1

Fletcher Moss Park, Manchester, England

As my smarty-bum nephew, Kristian Gregersen, points out (see comment below) this is not an orchid but in fact an Indian Balsam, originally from the Himalayas. Brought over in the colonial era perhaps?

This is infact an Indian balsam, Impatiens glandulifera, and not an orchid. Found in the north of England growing on river banks. Originally from the Himalayas.
