Holy Cross - Immaculata Church

On Good Friday, thousands of faithful climb the steps of a Mount Adams church called Holy Cross -
Immaculata. They pray the rosary at each step. This collection is dedicated to them and to the Holy Church.

This is a very old tradition of praying and climbing the hillside steps to Holy Cross-Immaculata Church in Mount Adams, Cincinnati, Ohio..
Services start at mid night and go to midnight Friday, every Good Friday.

This group of pictures is dedicated to the people of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky that make the pilgrimage to Holy Cross Immaculata Church every Good Friday.

Doing some research on churches in the area. Wanted to say these are the most beautiful I have seen...not only of the church but of people and their faith. Thank you.

I attended Holy Cross School until 7th grade and then moved to Mt. Washington. It was such an honor to climb the steps, at least 1/3 of the way on our knees. This was way back in the 1940's. Living on Mt. Adams is my happiest childhood memories. I live in Phoenix now but love remembering the two beautiful churches and the wonderful priests and nuns who guided us and made most of us better for having known them.

Jennifer, The correct spelling of the word after "always" is THERE!!! Although you do not say so, I assume you grew up on Mt. Adams. I, too, grew up on Mt. Adams, but probably a long time before your time. I think it is great that you remember the great church on "the hill". I hope you do not resent my correction.

Dear Holy Cross Immaculata, Though I now live in the busy city of Los Angeles Ca. I never forget you high on the hill. Your rich history and perseverance is a inspiration to the world. In the stillness of your granduer you call us all,never changing,allways their. Your light is allways welcoming me home.
