When the COSCO Development first arrived on the east coast in May, 2017,
it was the largest ship to visit the east coast (and still is I think).
If you laid its 13,000 containers end to end they would be about 49.25 miles!
The largest ship is the OOCL Hong Kong and it has a cargo capacity of 21,413 TEUs.
TEU is twenty foot equivalent unit containers.
