Enlarged view shows the solar prominences and chromosphere. The prominences were very readily seen, even with the naked eye.

Slik U212 tripod, Olympus OM Auto Winder 1 and remote electric shutter release. Exposure 1/1000 sec @ f 8. Scanned with Polaroid Sprint Scan 35 Plus. Image processed with minimal tweaking in Photoshop to match the slide. full exif
