Can anyone tell me what era this Magnasync / Moviola machine is from
Records and plays back 16mm mag tape.
Two boxes (not light) joined by cables from tape heads and a couple more.
Motors can whip the reel with no breaking at speeds which can cut your fingers off.
It does use transistors so it is post 1949
I hooked it up yesterday ad digitized some 1971 audio from it after passing through an isolation circuit and it seems pretty good. I have not compared it to the Steenbeck yet.
