In this horror movie, a dutiful grand-daughter goes home to take care of her elderly grandmother. Once there, she finds herself trapped inside the house with a homicidal maniac.
Stacy,
I took a look at a couple of the reels from your father’s film “Don’t open the door”.
In spite of what my paperwork said the film is Ektachrome, not Kodachrome, bit of a pity with regard to fading. I can see that the film has shifted a bit in colour and there is some haze in some of the frames, it is still in very good shape considering it was shot in 1973 (based on the date code from the camera stock).
In the gallery you will see frames with various colour adjustments, and a couple of the frames are in higher definition. I did not spend much time setting up the colour on these images. I also noticed, that in these sequences, Susan Braken, goes to the top of the house and there are red and green lights flooding in through the windows (I think), which is also a little misleading.
I noticed some comments on IMDB the based on the action the film should have been called don’t hang-up. In fact it was called Don’t Hang Up when the film was set up for printing. I would be interesting to find title frames and see what is on this version.
I do not have the sound track but have ordered the DVD (presumably from VHS to check it for quality.
I am not sure that I will do anything with this and will probably put it aside for now.
