Open a new layer and select the Pen tool, Paths option selected.
Click a point on the far bank, then on top of the rock. Without releasing the mouse,
pull out a handle and adjust the curve of the line.
Stroke the line. Add layer style bevel/emboss and inside glow.
Free transform: adjust near and far ends for perspective.
Open another new layer and repeat the process for the piece of rope coming over the rock
but also add a drop shadow to the layer style.
Move the layer so that the ends of the ropes are in register.
Go back to layer 2 and erase portions of the line in front of the iris.
For additional realism, duplicate the layer of the rope over pond, flip vertically and
blend opacity to look like a reflection. Change layer styles: probably eliminate the glow.
Use one of the distort filters to simulate ripples.
