This quilt is the first one made by my youngest customer, Kaleigh. She is 13 years old and getting instruction from her neighbor and experienced quilter, Talese.
Kaleigh picked her fabrics to piece the 32 x 32 inch quilt and competed the top. Then they came to my house to pick out her quilting thread colors and see a demonstration of my longarm quilting machine. I used a leaf design in the borders and included a lot of hearts in the blocks.
I hope that she is proud of her first project and will be encouraged to continue creating more beautiful quilts.
We used King Tut "Chalice" (variegated purples) for the back and the top thread in the four blocks. The borders and sashing have King Tut variegated grays for the top thread.
I am anxious to see the quilt after Kaleigh has finished the binding.
