revisiting the Out of Bounds concept
I transformed one image of the bluebirds to the perspective of the template, then used a non-transformed selection from a duplicate layer to create the "raised" portion.
Added a bevel/emboss to the template and my own drop shadow for the outer template area.
Filled a new background layer with Render Clouds based on two colors selected from the bird image.
Changed the original gradient layer to overlay blending mode to retain the gradient effect.
