Canyon de Chelle, Arizona

Comment from a viewer: "Lovely, but sad place. Kit Carson and his band hearded the Diné from here and forced then on their trail of tears.
A few escaped and hid in this canyon, where they were massacred, the army bouncing bullets off the tops of the caves to kill the hiding people.

The longer I live and learn about the Lincoln years i.e. the Indian story in Yosemite and their explusion and now this Kit Carson(reminds me of the holocaust)story as well as other atrocities. I am surely ashamed of my savage ancestors who came here to find religious freedom. What a blessed time it will be when the millinial rule of the Messiah will compensate poor humanity who have been oppressed by their fellow man

they would also throw the Navajo off the sides of the canyons. Guess it was a sport.
