Silvertone 1471 Tube Amp

This is it boys and girls. My "reference" amp. My reality check. This is one of the best sounding amps I've ever been in the same room with. The Jensen Mod speaker was pretty cool but was on it's way out. Replaced with a Weber Ceramic Signature 8 which is just a match made in heaven. I've tried various tubes in it (6V6 power tube) and it only works its magic with certain tubes. I installed a jack for the speaker connection and run my Univalve through this cabinet to amazingly wood-inducing magical tone. These go for about $200 on ebay and it's money well spent. I got mine for $80 but had to repair it.

It has a sprague for the highly recommended cathode resistor bypass mod. I happened to have some very sweet metalized polypropylene caps laying around from a diy audiophile crossover project so the filter caps are probably the most high-grade and expensive filter caps ever put in one of these amps. Yes it's silly and yes it's overkill but if you heard this amp you wouldn't wanna change a thing!
