Day 5
Our fith day we went to the Okavango Delta. This is the mokoro (wooden canue) station where we had lunch.
From the mokoro station the locals took us for a two hour visit through the canals until our camp.
From our mokoro we could look back and say hi to Jens and Verena :)
The Delta was full of waterlilies.
In the small canals we had to advance in a single line.
More waterlilies (so beautiful :)
During the two hour trip we stopped a couple of times to strech our legs and stay a bit in the shadow (it was so hot!!!)
We also saw a lot of dragonflies of different colours.
We arrived to a big pool of water where we saw hippos for the first time. They are really impressive animals!
Just 100m from the hypos we arrived to our camp. The truck was already there and our guide had cooked a delicious meal for us.
After some rest we went for a second trip in mokoro. Sitting in the mokoro is very funny because of being so close to the water.
From the mokoros we could see very well the landscape of the Okavango Delta.
We also saw different kinds of birds and other animals.
We saw the hippos again and this time they made more noise...
Our mokoro had a water filtering problem and when we arrived to the camp we went to the fire to try to dry our trousers ;)
