Peter is right; the geological formations are intriguing. The layers of rock in between which have worn down, must have been so much softer, and I wonder what kind of conditions allowed such differing alternating layers. The rolling breakers and misty atmosphere speak of wild weather during storms and so the jagged rocks must be resilient indeed to withstand the onslaught. The light in this shot accentuates other fracture lines which make the rock plates more than simple flat surfaces rising from the sand. And the composition, as usual, is just right. A wonderful place it would be, to wander around in gumboots.

Striking and intriguing formations, I have never seen any similar. V
