This gallery contains pictures of my 3-week stay in the Ural Mountains and Yekaterinburg. Tenting alone in the Ural Ridge proved to be extremely exciting and enabled some amazing observations in immediate proximity to the tent. Almost all target species where seen, highlights included at least two maybe even three Siberian Rubythroats in one salix bush and several Oriental Cuckoos heard at various locations and finally seen at the last camping site just outside of the Western Palearctic. Sadly the location where last year Black-Throated Accentor was located proved to be rich of Olive-Backed Pipit and Dunnock, birds which song strongly reminds of the Black-Throated Accentors, but not the ultimate target bird. Otherwise it was a memorable stay with some nice company by British, Finnish, Israeli and Polish birders. Missed birds are Oriental Turtle Dove, Paddyfield Warbler and said Black-Throated Accentor. Pine Bunting was another target bird, but is yet to be found breeding west of the Ural Mountains in visited Area. Yellow-Breasted bunting was searched for extensively by other birders but in vain, only one briefly seen bird of this region has been claimed.
