An adult male ruby throated hummingbird was banded by Fred Bassett in Tallahassee on February 22, 2006. This bird was still in its molt with three old wing feathers left and one in pins. The gorget had not yet molted so it is not the brilliant ruby red that it will be once it is in full breeding plumage.

Thanks so much, Fred!
I'm going to share this URL with some friends who will want to see the bird, and learn about the hummer banding program. This is Limbo Lane Ruby Throated GUY as opposed to Limbo Lane Ruby Throated (young) GAL, banded on 01.04.06 (C28017). Susanne, Limbo Lane
